New Refractory Polishing Machine
Surface grinding of large refractory shapes is an essential feature of the PSR business. It enables parts such as channel blocks and superstructure blocks to be mated together with close dimensional tolerances, without the use of jointing mortars or cements.
To supplement and improve our machining capabilities PSR has recently completed the installation of a new T500 V2 Flat Polishing machine. This was supplied by French engineering firm Thibaut.
Although similar to existing machines in operation at PSR, the T500 V2 incorporates enhanced controls and automation with the ability to polish multiple refractory materials with differing densities, automatically adjusting machining rates. This provides the added flexibility of being able to set the machine running with a wider variety products, without operator intervention or supervision.
